Winter Cocktails - Disney On Ice
Heading to the O2 for Disney’s Road Trip Adventures on Ice?
Between 26th December and 5th January, Disney will bring its famous Disney on Ice show to the O2. This ice skating extravaganza includes everyone’s favourite Disney characters including Aladdin, Elsa and Anna from Frozen, The Lion King and the cast of Toy Story. Tickets may be booked online.
We only have ‘ice’ for you!
To celebrate Disney on Ice in London this winter, the team at the Fox ExCeL offers its very own ‘ice’ menu perfect for friends and families visiting the Dockland’s area. Ice cubes are fantastic and don’t cost anything (is that because the best things in life are free-ze?!). Enough of the puns, onto the menu.
First the icy drinks.
We could be clever and claim that any drink served with ice is on this menu. Gin and tonic - with ice and a slice, the sophisticated Grey Goose vodka served with a twist, and Absolut vodka where you can pick your flavour from zesty citron, smooth vanilla, or gently flavoured raspberry. Or the usual soft drink selection that can all be served with ice.
Of course we can’t forget the perennial winter favourites of Baileys or Disarrano: served over ice, of course!
We won’t miss out the ice cooled beers in this list either but never, ever served with ice.
But we think that the ‘icy’ winner is the aptly named Long Island Iced Tea. Typically made with vodka, tequila, light rum, triple sec, gin, and a splash of cola, served with lots of ice - but no tea.
Here’s the icy food by which we mean, the ice cream. Because who wants cold food in the middle of winter?
Choose from waffles and ice cream, or pure and simple vanilla ice cream served solo. Japanese scientists believe that eating ice cream in the morning can improve your focus for the day. We open at 11am so just time to order your dessert before the midday brain boosting deadline!
It’s believed that the first ice cream was invented in China and brought over by Marco Polo in the 13th Century. It’s strange to think we’re eating a food item that was created all those years ago.
Why visit the Fox ExCeL when you’re at the O2?
Firstly, we’re only a few minutes by tube or DLR from the O2; just round the corner in the historic area known as London’s Docklands. We’re actually sited in an old warehouse, which gives us a vibrant atmosphere and versatile spaces - perfect for families during the day and a fun-loving crowd after dark. The ExCeL Centre and all the entertainment and experiences on offer are a very, very short walk away and you will be blown away by just how much history is around us in the Royal London Docks.
So that’s great transport links, an unusual setting, and lots of opportunities to discover something new. Including the Fox ExCeL. The place to be whenever you are visiting the O2 and the Docklands.
Come visit us and our great team working hard behind the bar and in the kitchens and restaurant. Join us to celebrate London, our diverse culture, and our great sense of humour.
What’s not to love at the Fox ExCeL? Come visit us soon.
What do you call an icy rock band? Coldplay!
